We had another amazing week at Grit Camp with 11 counselors and 26 campers for our second week at Jacksonville University. We had great weather again, played plenty of sports and activities, completed the Grit Combine, were inspired by the movie 'Overcomer', and heard from Kevin Ryan - a former pitcher and National Champion at Miami University and professional baseball player. We had several more campers that learned and recited this summer's quote 'The Man in the Arena' in order to earn their very own Grit Camp fanny pack worn by Grit Camp counselors.
Our Grit University interns have been working hard in the afternoon by locking down sponsors to provide financial assistance for local kids to attend camp. This past week, we had 10 kids attend the camp on scholarship so we are very grateful for the sponsors that helped provide that opportunity for some campers. It has been fun to watch Kevin, Jack, and Colby evolve in their abilities to attract sponsors. Their passion for the product we provide and the first-hand knowledge of how our program works is helping them bring on more sponsors each week while also helping them develop and hone their sales and communication skills.
