Grit.org rolls out Grit University and Grit Camp for Summer of 2020

At Grit.org, our mission is to build people that build companies.  We execute this strategy by teaching, implementing, and living by timeless life and success principles.  This summer we are launching our summer internship - Grit University - where our two interns Colby and Dylan will be living in our HQ here in Jacksonville (see picture below).  The idea is for them to form healthy mental, physical, and emotional habits while learning and implementing all of the mechanics of running businesses.  The business that will be their primary focus is Grit Camp, a summer sports camp for kids age 6-12 teaching them mental, physical, and emotional resilience through field and court sports.

The schedule for the interns will include the following:

5:45 am - cold shower to start the day

6:00 am - workout at a fitness gym across the street (I will be joining them for the workout on Mondays and Wednesdays)

7:00 am - breakfast

7:15 am - meditate

7:30 am - shower and dress for the day

8:00 am - drive to camp site (a private elementary school facility we are renting for the summer)

8:30 am - 2:30 pm - running various stations including field sports, court sports, calisthenics, meditation station, individual assessments of each camper focused on enhancing their mental approach to sports, a themed motivational movie theme each week, teaching and leading positive phrases of the day, and more

3:00 pm - head back to the HQ and regroup for the afternoon

4:00 pm - 6:00 pm - sales/marketing for Grit Camp

6:00 pm - dinner

6:30 pm - 8:00 pm -  work on our online business TowerClimber.com growing our social media presence, strategizing and implementing growing our sales channels, etc.  We are also closing on a commercial property where they will help understand, manage, and oversee maintenance and tenant relations

8:00 pm - 9:00 pm - read and journal

9:00 - down time

10:00 - bed

The interns will have this schedule for 4 weeks in June and 4 weeks in July with a week off in between for the 4th of July.  They will be paid a $250 per week salary and get a profit sharing check at the end of the summer.  The idea is for us to help these young men take their raw knowledge and energy and shape it into a formula and mindset that they can carry with them into the rest of their life.  In addition to not only living this out on a daily basis, they will also be tremendous role models and leaders for the kids at the camp and will be developing some invaluable leadership skills along the way.  And of course, they will make some money this summer to help offset the cost of college!

So I share this with all of you to help understand our broader mission here at Grit.org and how the same principles we discuss here each week isn't about just hopefully motivational and inspiring content for you, but also a new teaching tool that you can use to help inspire someone else.  Thank you for tuning in each week, and we will keep you updated on our progress this summer.
