This week we had 38 campers and 14 counselors for another amazing week of camp! We added golf, volleyball, and cart racing to our assortment of sports and activities, and we had the honor of getting a visit from a World Champion surfer- Sean Poynter. Sean Poynter talked about his journey in becoming a World Champion and that to him Grit is a choice. A choice we make daily in doing the things that we don't always want to do but help bring us closer to our goals and dreams.
Our motivational movie for the week was "Cool Runnings" based on the inspiring story of the Jamaican bobsled team. We also wanted to recognize Novus Architects, Inc here in Jacksonville for being one of our corporate partners this week and sponsoring 3 kids to come to camp and Build More Grit. We also had a local family that sponsored another camper this week as well.
