The Wisdom of the Enneagram

Updated: Oct 22, 2020

By the age of early 20's, it is believed that someone's personality is fully developed.  The lens through which we see the world can be identified and understood.  In our early 20's, we are also at an age where we start to yearn to know who we are and why we are here.  It is important at this stage of our lives to reflect on how we got to where we are based on our previous experiences.  Rita Heller, a licensed clinical social worker, licensed grief counselor and psychotherapist, and long time student and teacher of the Wisdom of the Enneagram, says that we will eventually need to get to a point in our life where we 'wake up' from the years of habits we are living each day--habits that were shaped by our coping mechanisms as children.  In order for us to further discover our true purpose (and hence further enlightment), it's important at some point to hold up a mirror to our personality and make real changes that will help us unlock our true potential.  The Wisdom of the Enneagram is a personality assessment that helps you start the process by identifying a starting point and directing you on a path to awareness and understanding of who you were meant to be.   I interviewed Rita Heller and asked her some typical questions that most people want to know about the Enneagram.  With over 25 years experience, her depth of knowledge and expertise is incredible.  She believes that discovering your enneatype can become a portal to help you discover your true essential nature. Lastly, if you have identified your personality type, then I encourage you to sign up for the daily email specifically tailored to your personality type.  It's an intentional focus for the day that helps re-frame your personality in a more positive and constructive way.  Here is the link to receive the daily email for your personality type (free): https://subscriptions.enneagraminstitute.com/subscribers/create We encourage you this week to start the journey of self discovery.  If you have already started that journey, then we encourage you to stay the course!  If you have stayed the course and formed the habit of daily self improvement, then we encourage you to find someone that is open to learning more about themselves and help them through their own journey.  What you put into the lives of others will come back into your own!
